Things to do
Chania
Chania is located at the northwest of Crete and has been inhabited ever since the Neolithic era.
Chania is a popular touristic destination with a natural beauty, rich history and cultural tradition. Whilst gazing at the Aegean sea, visitors are encouraged to discover all the remains of the different cultures which have formed the special identity of Chania.
Minoans, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs,Venetians and Ottoman Turks have all left their characteristics. The old Town with its maze alleys, the Venetian Harbour, the Archaeological, Folklore and Naval museum, the art and craft shops (glass, leather, wood, textiles), the taverns with the Cretan cuisine, and the contemporary city full of life and challenges, charm the visitors and make them want to re-visit soon.
Gorges of Southwestern Crete
Every gorge has a distinctive identity which unfolds gradually as you reach deeper inside them, offering a plethora of emotions and awe, renewed each season of the year.
The Samaria Gorge
One of the most beautiful gorges of the world and the biggest in Crete. It starts from Omalos and ends in Agia Roumeli in the Libyan Sea. The famous wild goat (agrimi) which is an endangered species lives there as well as another 450 species of rare plants. The trail is suitable for children and it usually takes 5-7 hours on foot.
Imbros Gorge.
A smaller gorge in the region of Sfakia. It starts from the village of Imbros and ends in Komitades.village. The rambler can enjoy the wild nature and rich flora. Suitable for kids, 2 hrs.
The Gorge of St. Irene
Less famous but very beautiful. Starts from the village of St Irene and ends in Sougia at the Libyan Sea. At the exit you will find the cosy tavern-snack bar ?Oasis?. The gorge has a very dense vegetation. The aroma of sage (salvia frutitosa) will escort you all along the path. Suitable for children, 3hrs.
Elafonisi
One out of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world is located in the southwestern edge of Crete. The pink sand and the light blue shallow waters give the impression of an exotic lagoon. The area is under the Natura protection programme, due to its natural beauty and rare flora.
The Carob House is located in the Akrotiri peninsula and the Horafakia region. Only 6 kms away from Daskalogiannis airport, 10kms from Souda port and 15kms from the city of Chania.
Milia
Mountain Retreat
Ecotourism, agrotourism, ecology, the ?great outdoors? and respect to humanity and its needs: simplicity, harmony, clean air, warm hospitality, relaxed atmosphere, home-cooking. This is what you will find in Milia, a small forgotten corner in Western Crete.
Milia is an authentic 17th century mountain settlement which has been transformed into and eco-friendly tourist complex; it seems to have sprouted from the lands of Crete. A glorious location boasting exceptional rugged beauty in the area of Kissamos. Placed among plane trees, chestnut trees, and mountain tops reaching the skies, the area overwhelms visitors with its unique diversity.
The philosophy of ?back to basics? has found true meaning here.
Our restaurant is open every day all year round from 12am to 21:30pm for all visitors.
In July and August the restaurant stays open until 22:30pm.

Natour Lab
Gastronomy & Hikes
?One?s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.?
Henry Miller
Natour Lab is not another tourist company.
We are a team of friends, living in Chania, who plan and organize unique trips through the natural beauties and the gastronomy world of Western Crete.
We provide authentic travel experiences always maintaining with high quality service standards. We don?t ?go with the flow? which means that we don?t follow touristic stereotypes. Natour Lab has nothing to do with ?big groups?, ?must sees?, ?ready meals? and ?all inclusive packages?.
You will find us on the paths less travelled.
In Natour Lab we move at a pace of a tortoise. We have all the time to enjoy the routes without leaving behind us any trails of the ?civilization? that burdens and pollutes the planet.
It is our wish to promote a more responsible travelling approach and to give our visitors the chance to activate all their senses, by exploring the diversity of the landscape, interacting with nature and discovering local gastronomy.
When our guests return home from their trip to the island of Crete they will have gained a more holistic understanding and perception of the culture they were hosted by.
